On the latest WDIY 88.1 FM broadcast, we featured the Rooftop Session from Bethlehem-based indie rock band Food Truck, recorded in August, 2024. With their influences planted firmly the ‘90s alternative rock era, the trio delve into earnest songwriting about friendship, love loss, and the tribulations of navigating your 20s — all with guitar, bass, and drums leaving a satisfying ringing in your ears. Food Truck’s second and newest album, Pure Gold, was just released a week before the recording of this session, and four out of the five songs they performed are from this latest release. As we found out, the open space of the Flatiron Building roof in southside Bethlehem provided an ideal setting for the band to showcase their sharpened songwriting and performance skills.
