For this show, Allentown noise rock/punk outfit Tile joined us for a Rooftop Session on top of the Cigar Factory building in Allentown in June 2018. The band is made up of Michael Morekin on guitar/vocals, Ray Gurz on bass/vocals, and Michael Dumoff on drums. You may recognize Gurz and Dumoff from our Bad American Shards Session released in August 2017. The trio is about to release their new album Come On Home, Stranger on August 17, 2018 on Limited Appeal Records and embark on a tour across the country.

We also listen to a mixtape of DIY/independent bands made by the Poconos' only pro wrestling-themed punk band, Cheap Pop. We spoke with Jacqui Pratt (guitar/vocals) and Nick Dailey (bass/vocals) after the band finished their set at Let's Hang Out, a combination pro wrestling and live music event held at National Sokols in Bethlehem in July 2018. The event was produced by Lehigh Valley Apparel Creations and BWA, and Tape Swap was on hand to run sound. Check out match commentary and photos from Let's Hang Out here.

Mikey Dumoff from Allentown noise rock/punk band Tile sings karaoke to the Rascal Flatt's version of "Life Is a Highway". The band selected this song as their band pick during their July 2018 Rooftop Session. We agreed to include the song only if Mikey would sing it himself at Shards, and this beautiful piece of music history was born.
